Orangutan tour of Tanjung Puting

If you would like to observe orangutans living in their natural environment, I can organise a tour to Tanjung Puting National Park.

The best type of tour is on that takes at least 2 days. I can organise a Kelotok (boat) to take you from Kumai near Pangkalan Bun up the Sekomeyer river to Tanjung Puting.

For the duration of your trip you live on the boar. I can organise a cook and crew to make your stay relaxing and comfortable. You can sleep on the boat at night secure inside mosquito netting.

On the way up river you can sit and watch the forest pass and spot long-tailed macaques and proboscis monkeys in the trees by the side of the river. You might see crocodiles and you will definitely see and hear many birds.

At Tanjung Puting you are almost guaranteed to see organutans at the daily feeding platform at Camp Leakey.

Floating Markets of Banjarmasin

A visit to the beautiful floating markets of Banjarmasin requires an early start, but is well worth it.

I can collect you at your hotel (usually at around 5am) and then take you by boat to the floating markets where many women arrive by boat to sell and trade their produce.

I can also help you buy some breakfast at the market, perhaps Piseng Goreng (Fried Banana) or Pancakes!

I can explain a little about Indonesian life and food and the importance of the rivers to the people of Banjarmasin.
